Contour Design was founded in 1995 by Steven Wang. Through Steve’s long association with Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) professionals, he recognized a need for safer computer input equipment such as computer mouse devices. The need was primarily driven by complaints from CAD/CAM application software users whose intensive mouse use was causing repetitive strain injuries (RSI), especially Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Steve and his early associates worked on several designs for mice that would conform to the human hand, providing safety for the prevention and termination of RSI. The final design, and Contour’s “flagship” product, is the Perfit, perfect fit, mouse.

Since its founding, Contour Design has grown to be a vibrant, profitable enterprise and has expanded into multinational markets. It is now essentially two organizations, the Ergonomic Products Unit and the Cases and Accessories Unit.

The ergonomic organization sells and supports the Perfit Mouse, Contour Mouse, RollerMouse, and RxShuttlePRO products and the cases and accessories organization creates and sells iPod and iPhone protective cases, the standard ShuttlePRO, and other technology hardware accessory items.

Steve Wang continues to lead the organization, concentrating his time, energy, and considerable innovative talents to new product development to keep the Company growing into the future and making computer work safer for all computer users.
