Computers enable us to be more efficient and effective, both at work and at play. We live lives that our grandparents could hardly imagine to be possible.

With the rapid pace of technological innovation whirling around us, it is evident that computers will be even more intertwined into our daily lives going forward. Our mission at Contour Design is to ensure that our future journey with increased computer use will be a safe one.

Much of the money currently spent on computer technology enhancements is focused on making computers smaller and faster, as well as more portable. As these goals continue to become more of a reality with every new model introduction, the one aspect that remains constant is human physiology and the physical construct of the human end user. Our bodies are not changing and there are certain postures and limb uses that are beneficial for us, and there are some that can cause us injury over time.  We are an Ergonomics company and we aspire to produce products that encourage and allow proper use of the body while interacting with computers without the risk of pain or injury.

Our outlook on computer user safety is closely aligned with those found in Scandinavian countries, where worker safety is central to most business cultures. In fact, our products sell five times more readily in Scandinavia as they do in North America on a proportional basis related to the population size. Scandinavians have long been recognized for their penchant to design tools and furniture that work in harmony with human physiology, rather than against it.

We are very proud that we receive thousands of compliments a year from computer users thanking us for our beneficial products. Our future mission is help people realize that Repetitive Strain Injuries can be prevented with the right equipment. Our products were developed to relieve pain for computer workers who already had developed pain. We recognize that the greater value of our product to computer users is tied to preventing pain from developing in the first place. Providing that awareness is our primary focus going forward.
